Dear Visitor,
I hope you find this site useful!
Even though I was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, my European parents had an enormous influence on me. By the time I was 15 I had lived in Canada, Greece, and the United States. My mother was born in Estonia in 1921 and was forced to flee in 1944 to avoid being used as a sex slave by Soviet soldiers. She could not go back home even for a visit until 1991, at the end of the Cold War. Her dramatic story, as portrayed in my book Banished from the Homeland (CeShore 2000) is a symbol of what happened to millions of Eastern Europeans. As they say about Hitler's Holocaust, "Never again". Stalin and his successors exterminated millions of innocent people in labor camps and forced painful separations upon countless families. Only by exposing the truth can we make the world a better place. I hope I did my little part to make it so!
My second novel, Broken Doll, is totally different. It is about a gorgeous and successful contemporary American woman who self-destructs in spite of being on top of the world. SterlingHouse Publisher in Pittsburgh will be publishing 'Broken Doll' in September 2007. For details, click here.
I studied music at UBC in Vancouver and at CWRU in Cleveland. My biggest dream was to compose contemporary classical music for the piano. My first CD, Vancouver Island Rhapsody, was released in 1999. My second CD, Crissa Constantine, Composer-Pianist, was released in 2002. Most of the pieces are inspired by the dazzling beauty of nature, and I hope that anyone who listens to them will be lifted to a sublime plane of joy.
